Railway Plaza

Historical Sites and Heritage Locations

Railway Plaza is set in the heart of Victor Harbor. Moments from the seafront. This public space has a contemporary feel and is used for community events.

The Artisan Market and The Fringe utilize this beautiful setting. During the Whale Expo and launch of WhaleFest in 2021, the precinct was transformed with an abundance of market stalls, vibrant entertainment, and family friendly activities.

The area is nestled under enormous Morton Bay Fig trees that are illuminated at night. There are seats and a huge lawned area with plenty of room for all the family.

Local artist Matt Turley had produced a piece of public art. In creating a piece for Railway Plaza, Turley drew inspiration from viewing the steam locomotive, as a myriad of unique parts coming together to work in harmony. The work is titled “Connection.”

Railway Plaza is a wonderful mix of heritage buildings and modern art with all the comforts you need for a wonderful day out.
