The Roundhouses

Cottages

The roundhouses are literally just that! Round buildings, made with natural materials including strawbale, timbers, and lime render to ensure they are truly environmentally sustainable. Small fully equipped homes, they are cool in summer, warm in winter, and have stunning views down the valley towards Cygnet.

The roundhouses are truly environmentally sustainable (not just the odd LED lightbulb or two!), using local and natural materials, local timbers, local artisans, and minimal plastics. Under-slab insulation, thick straw walls, double glazed windows, and the round shape all add to the eco-design. Architecturally designed, the roundhouses achieved an exceptional energy rating, with underfloor heating, remote-controlled blinds and a cute log burner.

Each roundhouse has high-quality wooden furniture including king-sized beds and luxury soft furnishings from Liberty of London, Studio G, and Canningvale. On-site is a wood-fired hot tub which you can book as a spa experience. We provide a pre-heated hot tub, bathrobes, towels, and a herbal and salt bath teabag. We also sell local wines and cider as well as cheese/cider platters.
The Bear unit is designed for families with a massive heart oak solid king bed frame, and a small bunk bedroom for up to two children.
The Otter unit, for couples, has the best window seat in Tasmania, and a solid Marri timber bed.
