Par Avion provides air-based tours from Cambridge Airport, in Tasmania’s south.
Par Avion has a fleet of aircraft which provide guests with the most unique travel experiences to some of the most remote locations in Tasmania such as the southwest wilderness area and the majestic east coast.
Par Avion is mainly known for its full-day and overnight tours to Melaleuca, in the remote Southwest National Park, Tasmania’s largest and most remote national park. The area is world heritage listed and covers approximately 20 per cent of the island.
The area is only accessible on foot, by boat, or by air, when you fly in you know you are entering an ancient Jurassic world. Bathurst Harbour, which opens into Port Davey is larger than the Sydney harbour.
Par Avion also provides experiences to Tasmania’s east coast, namely Wineglass Bay and Maria Island. Maria Island, is known for its wide variety of animals is only a short flight from Hobart.
Par Avion also provide customised tours, from 1 person to 30 people, and can provide a customised product to suit almost any budget or need.

Walkers taking the South Coast Track, which goes from Scotts Peak Dam to Cockle Creek, are walking landscapes formed between 200 million and one billion years ago. Par Avion operates a drop-off and pick-up service for bushwalkers into Melaleuca landing strip; they can also make pre-arranged food drops. Melaleuca is the only runway in the south-west wilderness area. The flight to the landing strip at Melaleuca takes around 50 minutes.
Per Person one way Bathurst Harbour/Melaleuca to Cambridge $250. Per Person one way Cambridge to Bathurst Harbour/Melaleuca $300. Per Person Cambridge to Bathurst Harbour/Melaleuca and return $500. Allowance of 20 kg per person for backpack. Excess above the 20 kg is charged at $5.50 per kg. Food drops into Bathurst Harbour/Melaleuca can be arranged at $5.50 per kg (minimum charge $15.00).

The East Coast of Tasmania has some spectacular scenery, and Par Avion give you an opportunity to appreciate this, from both the air, the ground and the sea.
Departing Cambridge, you’ll fly up the East Coast of Tasmania toward Freycinet Peninsula, and the famous, Wineglass Bay, named one of the world’s best beaches. You’ll fly overhead giving you some great photo opportunities, before tracking south, following the Freycinet Peninsula and track toward Maria Island.
After experiencing this special place, we will give you a chance to see the Maria Island National Park from the Tasman Sea. With a circumnavigation of the island, or a chance to see seal colonies (route varies according to sea conditions). After lunch, you’ll board your aircraft and continue towards the Tasman Peninsula, where there is an opportunity to have an aerial view of the Historic Penal settlement of Port Arthur and see the spectacular cliffs found on the eastern side of the Peninsula.
You will see the remote Tasman Island lighthouse and flying over Tasmania’s world-renowned big wave surfing destination, Shipsterns Bluff, before returning to Cambridge via the city of Hobart.

This new eight-hour tour explores the remote and harsh southern coasts and waterways of this rugged and beautiful region of Tasmania.
Landing at Melaleuca Airport, we take to the water and explore the pristine waterways of The Port Davey Marine Reserve taking in Waterfall Bay and the Breaksea Islands.
After a gourmet lunch featuring delicious Tasmanian produce, we disembark the vessel and explore the Melaleuca Museum and the Needwonnee Walk, a fantastic monument to the rich indigenous history of the area.
Returning to the skies, we head inland over The Arthur Range, arguably Tasmania’s most spectacular mountain range. Taking in Mount Picton and The Huon Valley, we return to Hobart via Mount Wellington for a birds-eye view of the beautiful capital of Tasmania before landing back at Cambridge.

Par Avion offer a three day, two night luxury camping experience at our fully set up camp on the shores of Bathurst Harbour, in the remote South West National Park.
Over three days your experienced guide will show you the wilderness and waterways of the spectacular Port Davey Marine Reserve, a waterway over three times the size of Sydney harbour.
The camp has a protected meals area, with comfortable sleeping quarters located in the rainforest. All meals and beverages are supplied.

If you are visiting Hobart, or a local, the Hobart City Scenic Flight is a great opportunity to see our wonderful city from a new perspective, from above.
Taking around 30 minutes in duration, we will depart Cambridge Airport, and fly over the Eastern Shore and cross the River Derwent as we track towards Mona and the northern suburbs, flying down past Mt Wellington (a chance to see the snow in the winter months) and the Hobart City before passing Kingston, and South Arm, Clifton Beach, before returning to Cambridge.
If you live in the city, we’ll do our best to try and fly overhead.
