Weindorfers Forest Walk

National Parks and Reserves

Weindorfers Forest Walk is a walk in Cradle Mountain – Lake St Clair National Park.

20 minute circuit, 750m circuit. Grade 2.

Perfect for families, this lovely stroll takes you through a beautiful rainforest, where you’ll see ancient King Billy pines, pandani and Tasmania’s renowned deciduous beech ( fagus).

The track leaves from Waldheim chalet and takes an easy grade through the forest. Take your time to view the displays in the rustic chalet to catch a brief look at the life of the Weindorfers, who played a key role in the preservation and history of this area.

Please refer to the Parks and Wildlife Service Tasmania website (parks.tas.gov.au) for up-to-date information about this walk, alerts, closures, safe walking guidelines, leave no trace principles and National Park entry fees where applicable.
