A shaded free gas BBQ, picnic tables are provided just past the Wharf Shed Restaurant before the Exercise equipment, public toilets and shower. The area is for day use only, with gas is kindly supplied by Parks and Wildlife. Freshwater for hand washing is available from a rainwater tank, however, it is advisable to bring your own drinking water.
The shallow beach is safe for swimming, ideal for children better at mid to high tide when the water warms over the sand. Dogs are welcome too, with ample beach to walk on or head along the Bluff Track a four km return walk north along the foreshore to the Bluff Road.
Take a sunset stroll on the beach, build sandcastles and fossick for shells, look out for Paper Nautilus Shells “Argonauta Nodosa” which wash up from March to June each year. Wander over to the jetty or Whitemark Wharf Shed for a bite to eat then throw in a line, bait is available at the Pub. Try your luck for some Squid or Trevally.
