Alexandra Battery Park, Sandy Bay

Located at 629-663 Sandy Bay Road in Tasmania, Alexandra Battery Park is a significant historic site, originally constructed as part of the Derwent River Defence Force Network in the 1880s. The park encompasses a vast expanse of open space and showcases an old fort complex, complete with tunnels and storerooms. Visitors to the park are treated to panoramic views of the River Derwent, stretching north to the Tasman Bridge and the city, and south towards the South Arm and estuary opening. On-site facilities comprise bins, carpark, dog bag dispenser, and seating. Please note that dogs are permitted, but only on leads.
