Longford Velodrome, known as the Kearney Cycling Centre, is a state of the art cycling track available for public use.

Bookings can be made by contacting the Northern Midlands Council on 6397 7303. Note: not available for public use if booked for an event.

The velodrome is also home to the Longford Skate Park.

The Kearney Cycling Centre is named in memory of Graham Kearney, a lifetime resident of Longford and talented cyclist, regularly competing in th prestigious Tasmanian Christmas Carnival Series in the 60s and 70s. His numerous wins on the track resulted in Graham being bestowed the title “Mr Carnival”. the pnnacle of his career was being selected for the 1968 Mexico City Olympic Games. Graham was an active member of the Northern Veteran’s Cycling Club and continued to race with the club unhil his passing in 2013. Graham is remembered as a person who passionaltely loved cycling and inspired others to do their best.
