Alpine Eco Walks is an eco-conscious high-country walking company. The team lead guests down valleys and up mountains across the Australian Alps, encouraging genuine nature-connection and nourishing the senses.
Day walks begin near the townships of Falls Creek, Mount Beauty, Bright and Omeo, with winter and summer experiences offered. Walks include locally-sourced snacks and lunches. The experience is led by highly accomplished eco-guides with ecology degrees and remote area first aid skills. Every journey is unique, representing the ecological patterns of the season. Guests are supported in embracing the elements, and snowshoes are supplied in winter.
Services
From $140 to $195
Starting from the Alpine NP entrance up some of the highest roads in Australia then veering off onto tracks across the Bogong High Plains before reaching the peak and spectacular views of Mount Mackay. A picnic lunch on the summit and then looping back through the valley to the straying point. Highlights include habitats of the Mountain Pygmy Possum, Snow Gum clusters and herb-rich alpine plains. In Winter this loop is lead with all participants in snowshoes.
