Mansfield Interpretive Poles

Galleries, Museums and Collections

At the entrance to the Mansfield Visitor Information Centre, in the Station Precinct, a series of timber columns become a forest of freestanding poles in a walk through interpretive courtyard, each one carved and decorated to symbolise different aspects of the history, environment and industry of the region.

Learn about everything from bushranger history, and the story of gold and timber in the area, to Mt Buller’s first ski lift and the flora and fauna of the region.
