White Swans

Natural Attractions

A unique sight for Western Australia is the majestic White Swans that have discovered a natural breeding ground along the Avon River in Northam. Western Australia is the only place in the world where the Black Swan is native, and as such seeing white swans is considered quite a novelty.

Watch the birds being fed each morning by the local volunteer wardens, who are said to have developed a strong bond with the swans. Settle down for a picnic lunch or just relax under the shaded trees to soak up the tranquil surroundings and watch the splendid creatures gliding through the water.

The picturesque town of Northam is just a 90 minute drive east of Perth and has many interesting historic buildings worth visiting.
