Navigate Expeditions offers immersive, regenerative travel experiences for the environmentally conscious traveller. Currently offering bushwalking, kayaking, mountain biking and speciality tours on the far South Coast of New South Wales.

Their day tours include, ‘Kayak and Shuck’ experience, gentle kayaking on the vibrant turquoise water inside the calm estuary of Pambula River and an Oyster shucking class with Broadwater Oysters. They run kayak tours on the Bega, Bermagui, Merimbula, Pambula Rivers and walking nature tours in Mimosa Rocks National Park and Beowa National Park (formerly Ben Boyd National Park). They can also cater for any other specialist tours for private groups such as gourmet food, wellness, art, photography, birding and accessible tours.

They offer multi-day, small group, all-inclusive, nature tours based out of Tanja Lagoon Camp, Green Cape Lighthouse, yambulla and customisable private tours for small groups.

Navigate Expeditions have achieved Advanced Ecotourism certification and Climate Action Business certification with Ecotourism Australia. The ECO Certification program certifies tourism products with a primary focus on nature. It assures travellers that certified products are backed by a strong, well-managed commitment to sustainable practices and provides high-quality nature-based tourism experiences. They placed silver at the New South Wales Tourism Business Awards in the ‘new tourism business category’.

Combine two of the best experiences on the Sapphire Coast, kayaking and oysters! The tour starts at the stunning Pambula River Mouth with vibrant turquoise water and beautiful natural surroundings. No kayaking experience is needed as the expert kayak guide will show you how. Paddle up the river as their guide points out some of the wildlife and natural features of Beowa National Park (formerly Ben Boyd National Park).

Before you know it, you’ll be at Broadwater Oysters, an award-winning Sydney Rock Oyster farm. If you have ever wanted to learn how to shuck oysters, well now is your chance and it’s easier than you think. Broadwater oysters will set the table with everything you need to open and taste the freshest oysters – straight out of the water.

Join them for a leisurely kayak up the Bermagui River and back. Pass mangroves where you often see herons foraging on the shoreline and cormorants drying their wings on tree branches. Further up river, you’ll make time to take in the natural surroundings and listen to the tranquil sound of the bell birds. You’ll stop along the river bank for a morning tea break and if the weather is lovely, perhaps even a swim before heading back to where you started.

Kayak through different eco systems from the forest of reeds in the lagoon to the sand spits, bush and farm land of the Bega River. You’ll be going at a pace to suit the group’s experience level and have time to really enjoy the natural habitat with guests often spotting egrets fishing by the shallow waters, azure kingfishers perched on the ends of branches and possibly white bellied sea eagles flying above. There really is so much to see and experience along this beautiful lagoon and river system. Part way along you’ll land ashore to stretch your legs, enjoy a lovely morning tea and perhaps even a swim.

Tathra Mountain Bike Tours offers exciting adventures on the spectacular 52-kilometre mountain bike trail. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or new to the sport, the knowledgeable guides are here to provide you with a two-hour introduction and orientation to these incredible trails. You have the option to bring your own bike or hire from the range available.

What sets these tours apart is their private nature, allowing the team to tailor the experience to your group’s riding abilities.

But it’s not just about the ride—immerse yourself in the natural beauty surrounding you. Experience the diverse ecology as the trails meander through enchanting landscapes, keeping an eye out for wildlife and listening to the melodic calls of the bellbirds.

Enjoy a leisurely Eden bike tour along Aslings Beach and Lake Curalo, perfect for Eden cruise guests. Pedal well-maintained mountain bikes along a mostly flat off-road bike path. A professional guide will conduct a safety briefing before equipping guests with a helmet and bike. The leisurely cycling journey commences beside Aslings Beach, offering captivating vistas of the Pacific Ocean and Beowa National Park. Keep your eyes peeled for the possibility of spotting whales or dolphins. Transition onto the wide boardwalk of Lake Curalo via a gravel track. Admire the breathtaking wetlands, enchanting forests, and abundant birdlife. Regular stops will be made at lookout points, providing captivating insights into the local culture, ecology, and history of the region. Cycle approximately 5 km before returning to the starting point and concluding the journey.

For every booking, $5 goes directly to conservation projects in the area.

Their new Aboriginal Peoples cultural tour on the Pambula River, comes from a special collaboration with Twofold Aboriginal Corporation. This immersive experience takes participants on a guided kayaking journey, complemented by the knowledge and stories of a First Nations guide. As paddles gently ripple the waters of the Pambula River, guests will be enlightened about the river’s profound significance in Aboriginal Peoples culture, history, and lore.

As part of their commitment to giving back and supporting the First Nations community, a portion of the proceeds from each booking will directly benefit the Twofold Aboriginal Corporation.
