The Strahan Wilderness Lodge C1890 was built as the North Lyell Mine Managers residence in Gormanston. In the 1980s the home was moved to Strahan in a position over-looking Macquarie Harbour and the fishing fleet of Mill Bay. It has been operating as one of Strahan’s longest-running tourist accommodation places ever since.
