Coal River Coaches has come a long way since their humble beginnings in 1996 when Rob purchased his first vehicle, a Bedford, with just one driver. The fleet now consists of coaches ranging from 7 seats to 57 seats and employs 25 local staff, comprising of strong, capable and experienced drivers, office staff, workshop mechanics, and operations staff.

We are still expanding the business as seen in the few years branching out into the tourism market, building our range of transport and touring services to include transfers, conference transport, pre-and post-conference tours, Travel Club tours and general charter multi-day and day tours throughout Tasmania.

Coal River Coaches are members of Business Events Tasmania, Destination Southern Tasmania, the Australian Tourism Export Council, the Port Arthur & Tasman Tourism Association and the Tasmanian Bus Association. In addition to this, they are fully accredited with the Australian Tourism Accreditation Programme , a Commercial Visitor Services Licence with Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service, and accredited with Passenger Transport Operators.
