The tours take a maximum of 21 people and your journey around Tasmania is organised by Adventure Tours Australia. All you have to do is turn up and have a good time. It’s the best way to meet with people from around the world.
You stay at hostels – dormitory, twin or double room; or ensuite motel/lodges (two-and-a-half to three star standard).
Tasmania is a separate island located 240 kilometres south of Melbourne across Bass Strait. Roughly heart-shaped, Tasmania is 296 kilometres long, ranging from 315 kilometres wide in the north to 70 kilometres in the south. The island has a diverse landscape comprising rugged mountains (snow capped in winter) and lakes, dense rainforest, beautiful coastline and tranquil countryside. Approximately 40 per cent of the state is made up of National Parks, half of this area being World Heritage Listed temperate wilderness on the West Coast.

From $825 to $1460

First we travel to Mount Field National Park, where we stretch our legs on the Russell Falls and Tall Trees walks. We continue on to Lake St Clair on our way to the historic mining town or Tullah, stopping for a couple of different walks along the way.
Today we’ll hike to Montezuma Falls, walk through the Henty Sand Dunes, or take a quad bike tour. Return to Tullah and go canoeing on Lake Rosebery, mountain biking or horse riding.
Today we discover the World Heritage Cradle Mountain National Park. Enjoy the pure air with a guided walk around lovely Dove Lake. We spend this afternoon exploring more of the state’s mid north before our arrival in Devonport.
Visit the Bridestowe Estate Lavender Farm (seasonal), St Columba’s Falls, and the breathtaking Bay of Fires. We drive into the stunning Freycinet National Park for sweeping views over Wineglass Bay. Travel to Port Arthur, and tonight take a spine chilling Ghost Tour for a glimpse into the historic past of this penal colony.
Explore the Port Arthur Historic Site, take a cruise around the harbour, then visit a range of attractions on the Tasman Peninsula.
