kunanyi/Mt Wellington Explorer Bus is the official shuttle bus for kunanyi/Mt Wellington. We’re the only tour company with exclusive access to kunanyi/Mt Wellington when Pinnacle Road is closed due to snow.
kunanyi/Mt Wellington Explorer Bus departs daily from Hobart’s waterfront to the summit of kunanyi/Mt Wellington. Rising 1270 metres above sea level, experience spectacular views over Hobart.
Enjoy the two hour return tour including 30 minutes on the summit or hop on and hop off to explore short walks on the mountain. Additional bus stops are located at Fern Tree Park, The Springs, The Chalet, Big Bend and The Pinnacle.
Buses are wheelchair accessible and can carry mountain bikes, providing access to the growing network of mountain bike trails throughout Wellington Park.
Ticket options include an Explorer Pass (valid all day), One Way Pass or a Mt Wellington and City Loop Combo which includes a 48 hour ticket on Red Decker’s popular hop on, hop off double-decker bus tour. Richmond combination tours also available.
Tours operate seven days a week, closed on Christmas Day. Buses depart from the Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre in Hobart with five daily departures during summer and four daily departures during winter. Enjoy informative local guide commentary in English.

Use your Explorer Pass to do the two-hour return tour including 30 minutes to explore the summit or hop-on and hop-off at multiple bus stops along the way to explore this diverse alpine landscape and the growing network of bushwalking tracks and mountain bike trails throughout Wellington Park. Hop-on a later bus to return to Hobart.
Additional bus stops include Fern Tree Park, The Springs, The Chalet, Big Bend and The Pinnacle.
Tour includes professional and informative commentary, access to Wellington Park and the summit of kunanyi/Mt Wellington, unlimited hop-on-hop-off use of the kunanyi/Mt Wellington Explorer Bus on the day of travel.Buses are wheelchair accessible and can carry mountain bikes.
