Tasmanian Mountain Bike Adventures is one of the State’s leading mountain bike tour operators. They are based out of Hobart and have been operating since 2017.
They are committed to providing quality mountain bike experiences in Hobart, and world-class riding destinations around the State.
Some of these destinations include Derby, Maydena, St Helens, and Queenstown. As well as mountain bike tours, they also offer mountain bike hire, shuttles and airport transfers.
Their tours range from half-day beginner-friendly rides on Hobart’s Mt. Wellington, to 11-day tours, travelling around the state, showing guests the very best of the State’s trails.
Their range of package tours are complemented with the option to ‘design your own’ tour. They have two modern minibuses. so have capacity for taking care of quite large groups. Their staff are keen mountain bikers, passionate about their local trails and eager to share their local knowledge with guests.

This beginner-friendly guided bike ride is the best way to experience the magnificence of Hobart’s Mt. Wellington. Starting at the South Hobart office, riders collect their hire bike and helmet. Next, they hop on a shuttle bus and are taken on a delightful drive to the summit of Mt. Wellington.
After a brief stop-off at the summit to take in the incredible views, riders have the option to ride the thrilling summit road descent or descend on the bus. After descending the summit road, guests reboard the bus and are driven to the next trail – the Pipeline Track.
This easy-to-ride, off-road nature trail meanders gently down through Mt Wellington’s temperate rainforest. Along the way experience towering eucalyptus, duck under giant ferns, visit a waterfall, pass under historic aqueducts, gaze into crystal clear babbling streams, and catch a glimpse of some curious local wildlife.
The tour lasts approx 4 hours and finishes at the office of Tasmanian Mountain Bike Adventures. Guests need to be comfortable on a bike with good basic bike handling skills. A low level of fitness is needed as the ride is pretty much downhill all the way. This tour has vehicle support and a trail guide.

We believe this is the friendliest and most accessible 40 km MTB adventure ride on Mt Wellington. The trail is easy to ride with mostly gentle climbs and descents.
Cruise through beautiful temperate rainforest, with stunning views of the Organ Pipes, Cathedral Rock, Derwent River estuary, and the city.
Duck your head under tunnels of giant ferns, take a break at the Silver Falls waterfall, walk under historic aqueducts, gaze into crystal clear streams, and expect some close encounters with local wildlife.
‘Out & Back Ride’
The total distance of the ride is 40 km and it’s an out-and-back ride. This means you can shorten the ride at anytime, simply by stopping and heading back.
Duration: 4-6 hours
Skill level: Easy, green, level 1-2.
Includes: Bike hire, helmet, and shuttle option
Riders must be comfortable on a bike with good basic bike handling skills
Fitness level: Medium. (If riding an e-bike, required fitness level is low.)
Restrictions: Minimum height 160cm. Under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent / guardian.

One of Tassie’s best MTB adventure rides. Start the ride at the North-South Track or the summit of Mt Wellington.
The 11km trail descends into Glenorchy MTB Park, where there are more trails to explore!
Option to hire a mountain bike or E-mountain bike.
This is a self-guided ride, suited to intermediate level MTB riders and above.
Tour Summary
Your adventure starts with a minibus shuttle from our office to Mt Wellington.
The drive to the North-South Track takes about 20 mins.
The trailhead is at a place called ‘The Springs’; it’s about 720 m above sea level and has a cafe and public toilets.
From here, it’s almost entirely downhill, an 11 km continuous trail that leads into the Glenorchy MTB Park.

Trail starts at The Springs, on Mt Wellington. 720m above sea level.
Finishes in South Hobart near Cascades Brewery. 550m of vertical elevation.
Descending trails are connected by fire roads, expect some climbing in between descents.
All the trails on our suggested route are sanctioned by Hobart City Council and have signage at the head of each trail.
The connecting fire trails are also signed.
Duration of the activity: including set up, shuttle to The Springs, minimum 2.5+ hours.
Multiple options for adapting the route, alternative trails, and loops.
After the ride, if further shuttles aren’t an option, there are climbing trails.
